‘Membership in Business Club Jorn provides a closer connection to the museum, and encourages us to remember to make use of the location.’
When Jyske Bank has guests from Denmark or abroad, the bank frequently brings them to Museum Jorn. Here, they enjoy a tour, a chat about Silkeborg’s provocative and inspiring international artist, Asger Jorn, and sometimes, a bite to eat.
‘It’s a good break from a full day of meetings on numbers and financial reports, to come out and experience something altogether different. Art is different than money. It contributes something new and different, which improves cooperation and the climate for communication, when you have meetings in its presence’, says Jyske Bank CEO, Leif F. Larsen.
‘As a local business, we need to emphasise that Silkeborg an interesting city, full of life and culture. This attracts desirable employees. The well-educated, in particular, tend to favour larger cities with ample cultural offerings’, Leif F. Larsen explains.
With 1900 employees in Silkeborg, Jyske Bank is the city’s largest private employer.

‘To establish a solid bottom line, we must continue to renew ourselves, and to think big. We need inspiration that comes from an entirely new angle. Art can provide this.’
Museum Jorn has a large collection of works of art by international artists. CEO Lars Brunsø would like to invite their thinking to his company, Akva Waterbeds.
‘We need inspiration and thinking space in which we may reflect on where we are going, from a birds-eye view, explains the CEO, who travels a good portion of his working hours.
Akva Waterbeds sells 97% of its products in 25 different countries. For this reason, Lars Brunsø values Business Club Jorn’s network of local businesses.
‘Today, those who want something for the long term know that it is necessary to think big and to be open to unconventional ideas. Fortunately, these are the sorts of companies I encounter in the museum’s network. When I’m finally back home in Denmark, I don’t want to travel to Copenhagen to network: Think globally, act locally.’
