In the autumn of 2016, Museum Jorn presented about 70 paintings by the German-Austrian painter and sculptor Georg Baselitz (b.1938). Georg Baselitz is one of the most internationally renowned and influential artists. Already in the 1960s, he made an important contribution to the new understanding of painting with his provocative political pictorial themes and upside-down motifs. Through his radical-expressive style and restless questioning of aesthetic conventions, Baselitz has won accolades from numerous exhibition venues the world over, including the Documenta exhibitions in Kassel in 1972 and 1982 as well as the biennials held in São Paulo in 1975, Venice in 1980, and Beijing in 2003. The Guggenheim in New York and The Royal Academy of Arts in London have honoured Baselitz with retrospective solo exhibitions and, recently, Georg Baselitz was honoured with a special work presentation at the 2015 Venice Biennale.

The exhibition was accompanied by a catalogue.

Open workshop:
Visitors could drop in the open Baselitz-workshop in connection with the exhibition. Here, children and adults could try out some of Baselitzs painting techniques and make creative experiments together.
