The Cobra Forum is a communication centre for the vast quantity of material contained in the museum’s archives.

ABOUT
In the Cobra Forum, visitors may can find information and articles about the artists and the art found in the museum.

The Cobra Forum is designed as an intimate space where you can settle down with a book from the shelves, or explore the boxes of archival material on various artists or artists’ groups in the museum’s collections.
The Cobra Forum is also an exhibition space for the rare documentary material in our archives. The exhibitions have various themes, and highlight the background of the activities and work of the artists represented in the museum’s collections.
Selections from the archived material will be digitised on an ongoing basis, and are accessible to visitors to the Cobra Forum.

WORK STATIONS & SKETCHBOOKS
The Cobra Forum has two work stations that provide access to a database that includes, among other things, a bibliographic summary of literature about and by Asger Jorn, with links to KID – an overview of the art in all of Denmark’s museums, and to Weilbach’s lexicon of artists, where biographies of all recognised Danish artists may be found.

In the Cobra Forum, one can leaf through Asger Jorn’s sketchbooks, which are otherwise inaccessible, and cannot be exhibited. Here, they are available in digital form. The Cobra Forum has a small cinema, where one may view films that relate to the collections.

The Cobra Forum was established over a 3-year period, and the material will augmented on an ongoing basis. The Cobra Forum is sponsored by Kulturregion Østjysk Vækstbånd (East Jutland Region of Cultural Growth) and The Danish Ministry of Culture.

The Cobra Forum is designed for the individual user, and is not suited to school groups.
